Balfour Beatty / The Queen Elizabeth Hospital Press Release:
Patients on West Newton Ward at The Queen Elizabeth Hospital King’s Lynn received an early Christmas surprise when staff from construction company Balfour Beatty visited the ward with sackfuls of presents.
Staff from Balfour Beatty’s King’s Lynn Drainage Board project collected six boxes full of presents, including contributions from sub-contractors Royal Haskoning DHV Engineering, GEM Services, Aries Services, A Plant and Geobind.
Ward sister Donna Snowden said: “We are hugely grateful to the staff at Balfour Beatty for all their efforts in collecting the presents for our patients.”
“These will help to put a smile on their faces when they are going through a difficult time in hospital over the Christmas period.”
“We are all very pleased to have been given the opportunity to make a difference to the lives of those struggling through the Christmas period, with all the thoughts of friends and family we can sometimes forget those less fortunate than ourselves. Despite the brilliant efforts of our equally brilliant NHS staff, spending time in hospital is not something any of us want – particularly during the Christmas period – myself and the team hope that joy was had by all and we wish them all a swift recovery” Said Philip Fellowes Pryne, CEO.
